Words of Wisdom
I’ve found that so often, profound insights and breakthroughs can come from getting the right message at the right time when you’re ready to hear/read it. Quotes can be powerful in this way so here are a few of my favorites that have shifted things for me at one time in my life. I hope they are of benefit to you as well.
“Don’t ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive, and go do that, because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”
“A happy life is just a string of happy moments. But most people don’t allow the happy moment, because they’re so busy trying to get a happy life.”
“Worry is like interest paid in advance on a debt that never comes due.”

“Don’t wait. The time will never be just right. Imperfect action always trumps perfect inaction.”
“The only thing keeping you from what you want is the story you keep telling yourself about why you can’t have it.”
“Fear occupies the same space as faith, and there’s only room for one.”
“The person who says it cannot be done should not interrupt the person doing it.”
“Everything that I think that I need to do, is all only in order to propel me to some place, that when I get there I think I will be happier. So, everything that I am doing, no matter what it is, all of my lists of rights and wrongs, are all about me getting to a [place], that I believe I will then be happier... So, why don’t I take a short cut and just be happy?”
“The reason we struggle with insecurity is because we compare our behind-the-scenes with everyone else’s highlight reel.”
“So many of us choose our paths out of fear disguised as practicality.”
“I’d far rather be happy than right any day.”
“A great future doesn’t require a great past.”
“The standard of success in life isn’t the things. It isn’t the money or the stuff – it is absolutely the amount of joy you feel.”
“Someone else is happy with less than you have.”
“Most of us spend too much time on what is urgent and not enough time on what is important.”
“Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it.”
“Only put off until tomorrow what you are willing to die having left undone.”
“A mistake repeated more than once is a decision.”
“People will love you, people will hate you, and none of it will have anything to do with you.”
“Most people would rather be certain they’re miserable, than risk being happy.”
“We all start out knowing magic. We are born with whirlwinds, forest fires, and comets inside us. We are born able to sing to birds and read the clouds and see our destiny in grains of sand. But then we get the magic educated right out of our souls. We get it churched out, spanked out, washed out, and combed out. We get put on the straight and narrow and told to be responsible. Told to act our age. Told to grow up, for God’s sake. And you know why we were told that? Because the people doing the telling were afraid of our wildness and youth, and because the magic we knew made them ashamed and sad of what they’d allowed to wither in themselves.”
“Get busy living, or get busy dying.”
